Fudgy Chocolate Brownies – The Best Easy Recipe

Ingredients:
200 g (7 oz) dark chocolate (70% cocoa or more)
150 g (2/3 cup) unsalted butter
3 medium eggs
150 g (3/4 cup) brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
100 g (3/4 cup) all-purpose flour
30 g (1/4 cup) unsweetened cocoa powder
1 pinch of salt
Optional: 50 g (1/3 cup) chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions:
Preheat the oven:
Set to 175°C (350°F) top/bottom heat or 160°C (320°F) fan. Line a square baking tin (approx. 8 x 8 inches) with parchment paper or grease it.Melt chocolate and butter:
Roughly chop the chocolate. Gently melt it with the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until smooth and let cool slightly.Whisk eggs and sugar:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs with brown sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt for 2–3 minutes until creamy.Add melted chocolate mixture:
Pour the slightly cooled chocolate-butter mix into the egg mixture and stir well.Fold in dry ingredients:
Sift together flour and cocoa powder, then gently fold into the batter. Add chopped nuts if using.Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared tin and smooth the surface. Bake for approx. 25 minutes. The center should remain slightly gooey.Cool & serve:
Let cool completely, then cut into squares. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar or serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Tip:
For extra fudgy brownies: Check after 22 minutes using a toothpick – a few moist crumbs are perfect!
